Hokosai- The Great Wave

One of my most favorite master pieces of art is this beautiful woodcut print by the Japanese artist: Hokosai. This historical painting is well known for its perfection of design and balance, as is typical of most Japanese artwork. Today this image lends itself to a much more sobering thought of the devastation in Japan this week. As our fourth grade begins our unit on Japanese print making, let us pause a moment to consider how we might help our friends.
